Of Gods, I didn't notice there was going to be a partial eclipse _today_, so I didn't purchase any protective glasses, now my kids won't be able to observe it! Kinda desperately flipping through instructions for crafting a camera obscura, but the kids might not be impressed with it. Shit shit shit. #parenting

[h] Project Hail Mary - thoughts[/h]

But I've been demanding utopian stories! This is one! It's not the kind of Solarpunk story showing a new kind of society that's overcome climate change and social disparity. But it's about all countries of Earth joining forces to find a scientific solution to an environmental threat. And there's interspecies friendship.

I used to love dystopian science fiction - it doesn't work anymore for reality is ever more infernal. "Project Hail Mary" is a well made, entertaining, visually stunning movie. It's a nice thing to watch with a science interested eleven year old. It's hopeful as long as I find it in me to have hope. I'll practice that. Hope. Utopy.

Project Hail Mary - thoughts

Rewatching "Project Hail Mary" with kiddo and realizing that the accusation of it being naive and old-fashioned is moot. Sure, it seems like a movie from the olden days, around 2000, where terrestrial states collaborate in a joint effort to send their best US-American heroes and one crazy Russian to space to save the day. Music: Jam with Etches and Gasher

The "Etches" by company Puremagnetic is a new music making thing that just into my household and Gasher and I jammed a little jam with it. I pushed the buttons - no, touched the metallic contacts of the Etches while Gasher played his guitar as well as the Hydrasynth (a keyboard). It's weird ambient, is the genre. #music #ambient #synthesizer

Website Update: Tarot

Added my whole 2013 Tarot deck to the side. Over ten years ago I made this set as my final project for design school. Had 10 issues printed for what, 400€? Or more? Crazy shit. They are out in the wild, I only have one and a couple single cards left. It's still the only tarot that works for me every other year when I feel like asking for answers I already have. What's your favorite EU money bill design?

Mine is Design I by Isabelle Daëon and I am seriously considering hanging them as art on my wall. They appear way too Japanese, though. I'm actually surprised how they made it into the competition because from overall composition to each detail they embody elements of Japanese art. It's not that I demand a distinct European identity, whatever that may be. But I am getting cultural appropriation vibes way too much. Beautiful, but not appropriate for the task. Design H by Atelier Goppel-Topernpong is my personal second place and since I find it fitting for representing money bills, it's my winner for this competition. Visually to me not as stunning as design I but nevertheleses beautiful, well executed this is what I want my money to look like. Honestly I'd love to collect these prints. It has to be birds, obviously. Person cult should die. Birds are the new era. #design
